Ibara Green Japanese Denim Woven

Striking sage green and navy selvedge denim, superfine deadstock from a Japanese mill produced for Kuroki Denim. Kuroki Denim was founded in 1950 in Ibara, Okayama. Kuroki began rope-dyeing denim yarns in 1965 and shifted exclusively to denim by 1970. The mill manages dyeing, weaving, and finishing under one roof. Kuroki uses vintage shuttle looms to create selvedge denim, while its rope-dyeing process produces deep indigo color and distinctive fading over time. Its 100% cotton fabrics range from 9 to 21 ounces, starting crisp and gradually softening with wear. The mill also prioritizes sustainability, using local spring water and treating wastewater for reuse in nearby rice fields. Kuroki denim is used by high-end fashion, heritage menswear and raw-denim brands worldwide. Mid/heavyweight, sage green tinged navy on one side and navy tinged sage green on the reverse, with a cool smooth hand and crisp structural drape. Use either or both sides. Right for a jacket, coat, vest, jeans, structured skirt or dress, or menswear.
