Bordeaux Blooms Italian Wool Sweater Knit

Elegant and romantic oversized knitted-in burgundy and lavender flowers, and delicate branches form a border, against a dramatic black background, deadstock from an Italian mill. Brushed felted/boiled wool knit features a 28" border along one side and knitted in decorative selvedge along the other edge.  Mid/heavyweight, stable, cozy, with a lightly brushed soft hand, flat and smooth knit on the back side, crosswise stretch, and a soft lightly structural drape. No raveling, so seam finish is optional and sewing is easy Right for a sweater, tunic, cardigan, light jacket or coat, vest or hoodie. Shown here made in Midnight Magnolia, (a similar design), using Marcy's Vogue 8430 - a quick and easy make, using selvedges and raw edges. One way design, 22" repeat.

Dry clean. Test a swatch if you want to hand-launder and air-dry. Steam press before sewing to remove any residual shrinkage.
